Background:

Being a community Club, Tampines West‘s key objective is to provide a place for social gatherings and activities for different ethnic groups so as to increase social cohesion and interactions. The Community Club frequently plans and organizes short educational courses, screening of latest movies or live events for the public.

Objectives and Challenges:

Within the Community Club, there are numerous facilities for the public to engage in sports, leisure as well as dining with the plethora of Food & Beverage outlets available. These serve as a one-stop platform for different recreational activities for residents living within the vicinity. In order to provide better courses/events and understand if the facilities are being effectively utilized by the public, the Tampines West Team has to understand the demographics of visitors to the Community Club to ensure all ethnicities are equally engaged. Most importantly, it is also crucial for them to know when the peak and non-peak periods are.

This data has always been collected via surveys or through a “finger-in-the-air” approach which is not substantiated and subject to multiple biases and interpretation. In order to adopt a more data-driven, methodical and analytical approach in the planning of courses, events and marketing outreach programs, the team set out to source and implement a solution that is able to passively capture anonymous data of visitors to the Community Club and their profiles.

Trakomatic Solution:

In order to implement a successful solution, Trakomatic worked with the team at Tampines West to understand their pain points in their operational processes and also the key challenges they were trying to solve. Trakomatic spent a substantial amount of time understanding their thought processes, the results they were trying to achieve and the types of frequent decisions they needed to make on a day-to-day basis.

Trakomatic identified the key challenges and decisions they had to make to drive targeted results and improve operational processes. Subsequently, we identified areas where our Technology could provide insights to aid and expedite the decision-making cycle backed by data.

Results and Value-addedness:

Tampines West CC adopted our proposed solutions which allowed them to gain insights such as:

  • Extrinsic footfall into the community club

  • Intrinsic Footfall Traffic

  • Occupancy rate of the community club

  • Average visitor dwell time

  • Demographics of visitors and,

  • Facilities utilisation rate
